Franzusov Sergey Alekseevich, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of St. Petersburg State University of St. Petersburg State University (Russia, St. Petersburg).
Born in Leningrad, he graduated with a gold medal from a school with an in-depth study of the French language and immediately entered the Oriental Faculty of Leningrad State University, from which he graduated with honors in 1985, having received the qualification of an orientalist-historian (history of Arab countries). The result of studying in correspondence graduate school was the defense in November 1990 . PhD thesis "Socio-political history of Hadhramaut in the Early Middle Ages".
He worked at the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 2010 he defended his doctoral dissertation on historical sciences, holds the academic title of associate professor. Author of 7 monographs (4 co-authored) and more than 300 articles. He is a professor at the Department of Semitology and Hebraistics of the Oriental Faculty of St. Petersburg State University and in the Department of Oriental and African Studies of the National Research University Higher School of Economics.
